Paul White founded Custom Stairs & Trim, Ltd. in 1985.
Originally from London, England, Paul learned his skills as an apprentice under two very renowned cabinet makers, who taught him to repair, restore, and even reproduce authenticated antiques. He remained with them as a partner for eleven years.
In 1978, Paul immigrated to the United States, settling in Pensacola, Florida. He found that several of the techniques needed to create circular stairs were similar to those required when working with priceless antiques.
Seven years later, Paul found his niche, building exquisite, customized circular stairs, which is still the forte of the company today.
In 1991, his sister, Becky Cordes, joined the company as a partner in the business to handle marketing and operations; the company had grown considerably. In 1995, their brother, Ty Havard, came on board to handle the ever-increasing sales in Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, and Texas.
Currently, there are 17 employees, some of whom have been with Paul from the beginning, learning the skills which he brought with him from England. All of them are highly skilled and truly talented.
